Well, it's now the day after Christmas... it's all a blur to me now! I've basically been shoveling snow since Wednesday night - Ow! My back! I think we got about 20 inches over the course of two days. Sometimes it was powder and sometimes it was a bit damp, so it made for really heavy snow to move, except for the first shoveling which was all powder. How I LOVE powder! Light little shovelfuls of powder! Seriously, I've ripped my back. I have previous back injuries - one caused permanent damage from a shoveling event in the early 90s, when I lived in Murray. I have a bulging disk from that one. I feel like I'm going to need therapy on it again....ugh! And it's still snowing!!!
Christmas was lovely. I really enjoyed watching the ever-changing colors of my little Christmas tree, as it reminds me of my Mom. I'm kind of dreading taking it down for the season. :(
I was surprised by receiving gifts from several friends/neighbors that quite perplexed me. I wonder how I've suddenly become so popular with people I barely knew? I'm not complaining, I'm just wondering if I've missed a "clue" someplace...
I've still to write my Christmas Letter. I usually do it on the weekend after Thanksgiving, but I was ill this year. Soooo....I still haven't managed to get it written! (Maybe this weekend)
I've watched lots of movies over the last few days - at least 10, so far. I'm on vacation through January 4th, so the potential is that I will extinguish the vast Hollywood library of movies! Maybe I should call Guiness....

In the Beginning...
...there was light. And the light over the Wasatch was great and volcanic. And the day dawned, and it was Daybreak.
And I love living here!
So, I'll give the blog thing another shot. This is try #3...we'll see if I actually make it to a second post. All my friends have such cute blogs - personally, I can't seem to figure this thing out....my layout leaves much to be desired so I guess I'll have to play with it more. :-/
It's almost Christmas. I'm so, SO happy that I was able to get the last of the gifts in the mail on Thursday. YAY! Now if I could just get around to writing the Christmas letter and get the hundred or so of those in the mail.... At this rate, I'll be mailing them on December 26th!
I bought a little 3' fiber-optic Christmas tree this year. During my Mom's last Christmas in 2005, we didn't decorate the house. My uncle, who lives next door, couldn't stand that so he brought over the little tree they use when traveling in their motor home. Mom just loved that little tree - she said the ever-changing colors were soothing to look at with her blurry vision. Ever since then, I've wanted a similar tree. Well, I now have one! I watch it twinkle and it makes me think fondly of my lovely Mom. :-)
It's now December 14th....I've only received ONE Christmas card people......
Soooo....I've got this mouse. You know, in the attic. If I didn't know better, I would swear it is truly a prehistoric R.O.U.S. (Rodent of Unusual Size) that has the teeth of a beaver and the claws of a badger... I had the bug guy come over and put down some of those sticky traps in the attic, which only seemed to have taunted the beast. He gnaws much more loudly now, and is in the walls and ceilings of the first floor, too. Either he's growing or SHE is reproducing faster than bunny rabbits... Ugh. Not sure what step 2 will be but I'm sure it will be expensive!
Is there a photo album gadget on this thing? Here's a photo of me in my office from the other day....a bit over-exposed, though!
